My Everyday Clean Makeup Routine

Lauren Scruggs Kennedy, here! If you follow me on Instagram or read my blog, you know that using toxin-free makeup products is a must for me. Since clean beauty is such a passion of mine, I was so excited when the Follain team asked me to share my routine and the products that I use.
I feel the most comfortable with little makeup on and am a big fan of going makeup-free every so often to let my skin breathe. I am definitely a quality-over-quantity person, so I keep the products to a minimum and stick to nontoxic ingredients that are super effective. It’s a win-win! The best news? My everyday makeup routine is simple and takes less than 10 minutes.
So, let’s get started!
1. Face
I use my fingers to smooth the W3LL People and RMS concealer under my eyes and on any areas that I want to even out around my nose and chin. I have found that these two products work really well together, so I love to mix the two. I go over that base with a blend of the W3LL People foundation and the Vapour foundation. I finish it all off with the RMS “Un” Powder using the Ilia finishing powder brush. It gives a really light finish. Then I apply the W3LL People bronzer to my cheek bones and the Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint to my lips and cheeks. I use the “Very Naughty” shade. It adds a little extra color to my face while still looking very natural.
2. Eyes and Brows
I always do my brows, because I think they really complete a look and define your face. I use the Antonym Cosmetics brow pencil in medium or the blonde color by Alima Pure depending on the look I am going for. I finish up with the Ere Perez clear brow gel to hold my brows in place. I love that brushed-up look—the thicker the better, in my opinion!
A little tip: I add a little concealer directly underneath my brow line to add more life and definition to my eyes. Then, I curl my eyelashes with a lash curler, and voilà! The finished look is super natural and pure, but still put-together and finished looking. Most days I don’t apply mascara, but when I do, W3ll People has a really good, clean mascara that I love.
3. Lips
For the finishing touch on the lips, I always carry a lip balm for moisture. My go-to products are the Ilia lip conditioner and the Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner (with SPF!) for a bit of color, both of which are always in my purse for on-the-go application. For a night out, I always use the RMS lipstick in the Magic Hour shade.
And that’s a wrap! I hope these product recommendations and routine tips inspire you to keep it simple when it comes to daily makeup, opt for quality over quantity, and always use effective toxin-free products! xo, Lo.
