Indie Lee is known for her eponymous skincare line and positive spirit. She launched her now-beloved brand in 2010, after surviving a rare brain tumor and learning that her beauty and skincare products may have contributed to the illness. Here, she shares her skincare routine, favorite mantra, and more.
What’s your morning ritual?
I cleanse with Purifying Face Wash and tone with CoQ-10 Toner. Serum—mix the Stem Cell Serum and Daily Vitamin Infusion—then moisturize with Daily Skin Nutrition and I-Waken.
What’s your evening ritual?

Best vacation spot?
Any place near the ocean.
What three words best describe your brand?
Authentic, transparent, and effective.
Pretty Woman—I’m a sucker for romance. Notting Hill is another one (hmmm, I see a Julia Roberts theme).
Favorite TV show?
The Outlander series. I must admit, I don’t watch a lot of TV, though. Also, the book series was one of my faves.
What book are you reading right now?
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, by Susan Cane. Little known fact: I’m an extroverted introvert.
Best advice you’ve ever gotten?
Trust your gut.
I’m not really a sweets person, so if there’s a cheese plate on the dessert menu, I’m ordering it!
How do you find balance?
This is always a work in progress for me. I meditate daily once in the morning and once in the evening.
How do you destress?
Meditation and long hikes.
What’s your personal mantra?
Live every day with passion, on purpose, and be fully present.

Started Indie Lee.

I-Recover Mind and Body Gel.
What clean ingredient are you obsessed with?
Oh my gosh, where to start? Squalane of course, hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, trumella mushrooms, burdock root, arnica, rosemary . . . seriously the list goes on and on.
Person you’d like to have coffee with?
My great grandmother. She was so ahead of her time and I was too young to really get to know her before she passed away.
Who inspires you?
There is no one person. I’m always inspired by my kids, the letters and DMs I receive from customers, my team, the other founders in this clean beauty space.
Best beauty or skincare hack?
I use my gua sha at my desk, and I also have a mini-fridge in my bathroom, which has my jade roller, CoQ10 Toner, Clearing Mask, and I-Waken in it.
Favorite way to get moving?
Hiking with my pups.
First beauty product obsession?
Something you splurge on?
Lately, shoes. Although I’m a huge tech fan so don’t leave me alone in an Apple store. Oh, and I get regular massages—I look at that as self care though, so it’s not a splurge 😉
Something you scrimp on?
Working out (I know I need to make time for it).
Jasmine or fresh salt water air (not at low tide).
Song that always makes you happy?
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder.
What does success mean to you?
1. That my children are happy and confident. 2. That when I do leave this life, I will be remembered as someone who inspired, empowered and created change.
