How to Get a Pretty Rosy-Hued Makeup Look in 5 Easy Steps

It’s not officially spring for a few more days, but we wanted to get in the spirit as temperatures start to warm up! In our most recent Follain clean makeup tutorial, resident Boston makeup artist Kate shows us how to get an easy, spring makeup look.

1. Prep Skin

Kate used the Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer to prep Annie’s skin and give it some extra radiance.

2. Apply a Base

For a light, dewy base, Kate applied both theĀ Vapour Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation and the RMS “Un” Cover-Up Concealer.

3. Make Eyes Pop

Kate used two shades of the Ilia Eye Shadow Sticks to create a light, rosy look for Annie’s eyes. Kate loves using these eye shadow sticks to get an effortless, creamy look. First, she started with the darker shade, a romantic amber rose called “Next to You,” on the lid. Next, she used lighter shade “And She Was” to brighten the inner lid to open up Annie’s eyes. She added a little onto Annie’s brow bone for some added glow, and finished with a light layer on the lower lash line.

Finally, she usedĀ Jane Iredale’s Mascara in Black Ice to make the eyes pop.

4. Rosy cheeks and lips

To amplify the rosy look, Kate used RMS Lip2Cheek in Modest on the apples of Annie’s cheeks. This product is multi-purpose, so if you wanted to use it on the lips as well, you could. Kate decided to use the Diabolique shade to add a deeper berry look to Annie’s lips.

5. Highlight!

Finally, Kate used the Maya Chia highlighting serum in The Golden Hour to add some extra dew and glow to the look. She started by applying a few drops between her hands, then patting onto Annie’s cheeks, brow bone, and the bridge of her nose.

Finally, to draw light to her lips, she added a touch of the highlighting serum to Annie’s cupid’s bow.
